One of the best Nevada State Hiking search engines is located at this Nevada Commission On Tourism website.  It covers some of the best hiking trails  that traverse across the Silver State. Almost half of the River Mountains Loop Trail is located within the boundary of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.  This link is again a large one with many sights available in the park.  It also includes excellent information for hiking in the desert which should be a must read for new hikers and for experienced hikers.  The Lake Mead National Recreation Area is an active member of the RMTP.  If this link does not work go to:

            Clark County Wetlands Park Home & Logo

When finished, the north side of the River Mountains Loop Trail will join the Wetlands Park trail system by a connector trail that links both trail systems.  This web site is large, has many pictures, history, geological links of our area.  This is a good place to start for general information.   Hoover Dam - A National Historic Landmark - walking tour link

Eventually, the River Mountains Loop Trail will go to the top level of the parking structure at Hoover Dam.  This link takes you to the home page of the Dam. Look for a link on the left side of the page for  a self guided tour of Hoover Dam that starts on the top of the parking garage. The Bureau of Reclamation is an active member of the RMTP.
