TRAIL DEVELOPMENT OVERVIEW This trail was recently rebuilt following flood damage. ISTEA funding received in 1997 is available to upgrade facilities along this existing trail. This funding was awarded to the NPS in partnership with Boulder City and the Bureau of Reclamation. Additional funding will be necessary to address drainage issues in Hemenway Valley and to place a hardened surface on the trail. A thorough analysis of drainage needs should be made and enhancement programmed. Trail facilities funded through an ISTEA grant for the Hoover Dam connection include shade structures and interpretive exhibits. The facilities will be built with funds uncommitted post opening of Tunnel #5. Equestrian access needs to be evaluated.
