Desert tortoises and bighorn sheep have the "right-of-way."
They are not to be disturbed even if they are on the trail and block your way.

The River Mountains are a non-motorized use area.  The River Mountains Loop Trail is a non-motorized trail.   
No ATVs, no OHVs, no motorcycles, no dirt bikes.

The River Mountains Loop Trail, approximately 35 miles in length, will surround the River Mountains, connecting Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Hoover Dam, Boulder City, Henderson, and the rest of the Las Vegas Valley, expanding recreational and alternative transportation opportunities for the region's growing population.

The twenty-two trail construction segments are shown below on this map.

It is the goal of the River Mountains Trail Partnership to have a competed trail system including signage and trail heads by the fall of 2007.
